6 Steps for Your BEST Cup of Coffee.
GRIND THE BEANS
It’s not an overstatement to say the grind is, the most important párt of your coffee. Here, use a medium grind, which is similar to typical beach sand
MEASURE WATER & GROUNDS
A good rule of thumb is 6 oz of water for every 2 tablespoons (10 grams) of ground. Different grind sizes will have different ratios. It’s all about what you like!
HEAT THE WATER
As hot-off-the-boil as possible. Hotter water leads to faster extraction, which is important because the pour-over method sends water straight from kettle to cup
WET/BLOOM THE GROUNDSSlowly pour water over the grounds to the point where it’s gets completely absorbed. This aids in even and complete extraction Let it sit for 30 seconds.
SLOWLY POUR THE WATER
The rate of pouring is a huge factor in pour-over coffee. There are 2 approaches:
1- Pour slowly and continuously
2- Pour rapidly until the water reaches the top, wait until it drops, then repeat
